Week 10 - Growth and Celebration

Good morning, beautiful people. It's Monday the 10th of March 2025 and I'm back again working as fast as possible on last week's review and updates which I neglected to do yesterday. I'd like to one day look back on the successes of my year by showing myself how busy and happy my life has been throughout 2025. That's one of the reasons why I do what I do... why you're able to read about my life like this.

This week was my best friend's 18th birthday. As you might've guessed by my website title, I'm already of beer-drinking age in the UK - 18!!! But anyway, we spent a good proportion of yesterday drinking beer at Whetherspoons in town and being cheerful and full of laughter. It was a good day. When the others had all gone, my closest mate and I both went down to the lake and sat on the pair and talked about our lives as the sun set on another beautiful day. The beauty of my life is that despite the fact that I face challenges and struggles in my past, present and future: (A-Levels, dad's mnd and trying to discover the person I want to be) I always seem to have an opportunity to sit down and talk about how I feel. Be that with my friends, mum, siblings, or on this page with all of you. I want to chase success to the end of the Earth, and so I will, with the help and support of all of you.

I ran my first 5K in a long while on Saturday last week. I wanted to prove to myself that I can push past my fears of running that have stopped me in the past - upon starting A-levels a year ago, and just starting to accept my father's terminal diagnosis, I began to have very regular heart palpitations. This almost constant strain on my heart refused to go away, and while pushing myself during my last 5K. My heart monitor on my watch hit 200+ bpm while on said run, and I was so scared that I told my parents and we had my heart properly monitored and they found no issues. I never ran after then, until Saturday, I also forgot to stretch/warm up, so now I'm sitting in form with aching calves. Not stopping e from doing it again, though - obviously with a warm-up this time.

27:14 is the time to beat.

Other than that, what other stuff is happening...

The house extension is happening, and so dad had me move stuff around on the bottom floor in preparation for the builders to cut through the wall, in anticipation for the dust that will inevitably plague the house.

My brother is ill, and I hope it doesn't get to me or my sister. It's not too bad though since he can take paid time off with his apprenticeship.

I'm on the second habit of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and it's all about beginning with the end in mind. It's about embodying the principles of the person you want to become, in order to become closer to that ideal character.

Anyway, I'm out of time. Catch you next (this) week,

Tom
